About us
Who am I?
I am Aurélie Sporcq and I have been interested in Germanic languages for years. When I was eight years old, I started learning Dutch at school. I thought this language was beautiful and creative, and I especially liked its colourful vocabulary and its sonorities. It was only natural for me to learn Dutch, and then English, as I went to secondary school.
When I applied for a bachelor’s degree in Translation, I faced a big challenge: which languages should I study? I certainly did not want to stop taking Dutch classes, as it is an official language in Belgium. Instead of choosing English, I decided to opt for a less spoken language: Danish. I do not regret this decision at all! It gave me the opportunity to discover the Scandinavian culture, which is similar to ours.

What can a translator or an interpreter help you with?
Translating or interpreting does not limit itself to finding similar words in another language. Knowing the political, cultural and sociological situation of a foreign country, understanding linguistic subtleties of one’s language and following the news are very important components of a good translation or interpretation. Translators and interpreters have to keep learning new information and be curious in order to take up new challenges.

Proofreading
At Aurélie Sporcq Traduction-interprétation, we know that spelling and grammatical mistakes can easily interfere with the comprehension of a text. We therefore offer you to proofread your documents written in French. We advise you and help you work on the syntax, style, legibility of the text or the used terminology. We can also check the layout of your document (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
